A lost piece of luggage belonging to an expatriate passenger was successfully recovered and returned to its rightful owner at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, thanks to the vigilance, professionalism, and prompt action of Bangladesh Ansar personnel on duty.
The incident occurred at around 10:20 am on Wednesday when expatriate passenger Md. Shahin Mridha, who had arrived from Oman, informed APC Md. Nizam Uddin, stationed at Canopy-02, that his luggage was missing. Upon receiving the complaint, APC Nizam Uddin immediately initiated efforts to locate the luggage and informed Shift Instructor Md. Wasim Mia.
Following instructions from the shift instructor, Ansar members launched a search operation that included public announcements and extensive inquiries in the surrounding area. During the investigation, it was discovered that Dubai expatriate Md. Iman Ali had mistakenly left his own luggage at the airport and taken Shahin Mridha’s luggage with him.
Meanwhile, APC Nizam Uddin examined the tag of an unattended suitcase found in the canopy area and obtained a mobile phone number linked to its owner. After contacting the number, Ansar personnel informed Iman Ali that his luggage had been left behind at the airport. He subsequently returned to the airport.
Upon verification, officials confirmed that the luggage in Iman Ali’s possession actually belonged to Shahin Mridha. In the presence of both passengers, Ansar personnel carefully checked the luggage tags, descriptions, and other relevant details to verify ownership.
After completing the necessary verification procedures, both passengers were handed their respective luggage. Shahin Mridha expressed relief and gratitude after recovering his belongings and thanked the Ansar personnel for their swift and responsible assistance.
