The Job Card Automation Program has been formally inaugurated at Dhaka University's Science Factory to make repair and maintenance activities more modern, efficient and transparent. Today, Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the program was inaugurated as the chief guest at the Vice-Chancellor's meeting room of Dhaka University by the University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam.

At the event, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam said that in the current world, there is no alternative to digital technology to ensure good governance and effective administration. It is possible to significantly increase the quality of services, transparency, accountability and efficiency by increasing the use of information technology in various administrative and service activities of the university and implementing automation. He emphasized on ensuring maximum use of information technology to make all the services of the university more modern, dynamic and timely.

He said that as part of the university's digital transformation program, administrative services are being brought under automation in phases. In continuation of this, the job card automation system has been introduced in the Science Factory with the technical assistance of the ICT Division of Dhaka University.

Dhaka University ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Mosaddek Hossain Kamal Tushar, Science Factory In-charge Professor Dr. Zulfikar Hasan Khan and officials of the concerned departments were present at the event.

Through this new system, from now on, job card creation, approval, work progress monitoring and work completion information for all repair and maintenance work conducted in the Science Factory can be done online. As a result, various departments, institutes, residential halls, offices and centers of the university will be able to easily submit repair-related applications online and will be able to monitor the progress of the work instantly. This will make the entire process of providing services faster, more effective and user-friendly.

This automation system is expected to ensure transparency, accountability, time saving and effective management of resources in administrative activities, as well as improve the quality of services.

The job card automation system launched in the Science Factory is an important milestone in the digital transformation of Dhaka University. In the future, there are plans to gradually expand the same type of automation system to other halls, departments, institutes, offices and centers of the university. Through this, the ongoing initiatives of the university administration to make the administrative services of Dhaka University more modern, technology-based, efficient and people-friendly will be further accelerated.
