An alleged hospital broker was detained by Ansar members at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Hospital in Dhaka while attempting to lure patients into seeking treatment at private hospitals.

The incident occurred at around 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday in front of the hospital's emergency department under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. On-duty Ansar personnel noticed a man allegedly promising patients from different parts of the country quick access to doctors, better treatment, and low-cost services at a private hospital.
Suspecting the activity, Ansar personnel launched an immediate operation and detained the man. The operation was led by Platoon Commander (PC) Md. Aminul Haque, along with Assistant Platoon Commander (APC) Md. Zahirul Islam and Ansar members Kawsar Mia and Saiful Islam.

The detainee was identified as Md. Liton Mia, 35. During initial questioning, he allegedly admitted to being involved in commission-based brokerage activities for a long time, taking patients from the hospital to private hospitals and diagnostic centers.

Following instructions from the hospital authorities, Liton Mia was handed over to police for legal action.
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) said its members continue to work with vigilance and professionalism at government hospitals across the country to ensure the safety of patients, doctors, and healthcare workers, while preventing broker networks, theft, robbery, and other criminal activities.
