Start Fund Bangladesh, World Vision Bangladesh and Village Development Organization (GROUSE) stand by the families affected by flash floods in Bandarban on a daily basis.
Cash assistance and hygiene kits were distributed among 236 flood-affected families of Ward 7 and 9 of Bandarban Municipal Council of Bandarban Sadar Upazila under the 'Flood Emergency Response in Bandarban 2026' program on Wednesday (July 29) at Bandarban Sadar Upazila Hallroom.
Member of Parliament for Bandarban-300 Constituency and Convener of Bandarban District BNP Rajputra Saching Pru Jerry MP was present as the chief guest in the aid distribution ceremony. He inquired about the flood affected families and handed over cash and hygiene kits to them. At this time, he praised the humanitarian initiatives of World Vision Bangladesh and Grouse and expressed hope that such activities will continue in the future.
Grouse Chairperson Mong Thuy Ching Marma gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the program. Bandarban Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Marufa Sultana Khan Hiramani presided over the event.
World Vision Bangladesh Bandarban Area Senior Manager Ashish Kumar Halder, Start Fund Response Manager Md. Ruhul Amin, Grouse Deputy Executive Director Chinmoy Murung, World Vision Technical Officer Md. Abdul Aziz and Grouse Program Manager Tulu Marma gave speeches as special guests. The program was conducted by Grouse Program Organizer Sonia Afroz, besides Dr. M. Mahmudul Haque, print and electronic media journalists, beneficiary family members and local dignitaries were present.
The program is being implemented by World Vision Bangladesh and Grouse. Cooperation includes Start Fund Bangladesh, UKAid (UKAid), Sida (Sida), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, JAOA (JOA) and Konrad N. Hilton Foundation.
