An alert and courageous member of the Bangladesh Ansar helped apprehend a suspected snatcher and recover a stolen smartphone at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The incident occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on Friday (July 24) near Gate No. 5 of the airport's domestic driveway. A man allegedly attempted to steal a smartphone from the pocket of an outbound passenger and fled the scene after the victim raised an alarm.
Ansar member APC Md. Nur Islam, who was on duty at Gate No. 5, immediately chased and apprehended the suspect. The accused, identified as Hridoy (28), was later handed over to the airport's Magistrate Court with the assistance of other Ansar personnel.
In the presence of the magistrate, the recovered smartphone was returned to its rightful owner. The court also directed that the suspect be handed over to Airport Police Station for further legal proceedings.
The incident highlights the professionalism and swift response of Bangladesh Ansar personnel in ensuring airport security. APC Md. Nur Islam's prompt action not only led to the arrest of the suspect but also helped the victim recover the stolen mobile phone.
