A six-year-old child who went missing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport was safely reunited with his family on Monday, thanks to the prompt response and professionalism of members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP).

At around 9:25 a.m., on-duty Ansar member Md. Mizanur Rahman found the child, Md. Abdullah Matabbar, crying and alone in the airport's multi-storey car parking area. The boy, son of Italy-based expatriate Mohammad Azizul Islam, was immediately taken into safe custody.

After being informed, Shift In-Charge PC Md. Nizam Uddin launched a search based on information provided by the child while airport-wide public announcements were made to locate his family.

The child's uncle, Md. Sumon Matabbar, was later identified at the airport's Canopy-2 area. Following proper identity verification at the DSO office, the child was safely handed over to his uncle in the presence of the relevant authorities.

The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude and praised the Ansar personnel for their vigilance, compassion, and swift action.

The Bangladesh Ansar and VDP continue to provide security at airports, seaports, hospitals, and other key installations while also assisting the public through rescue efforts, recovery of lost persons and belongings, and other humanitarian services.
