Inauguration of the ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ Training Program at Rabindra University, Bangladesh

Bangladesh A five-day training program titled ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ was formally inaugurated on 12 September 2026 at Rabindra University, Bangladesh. The program is being jointly organized by the BSCIC Training Institute (BTI), the training institute of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), and Rabindra University, Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Sobahan, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh, attended the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Hossain, Treasurer of Rabindra University, Bangladesh, was present as the Special Guest. 

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Md. Forhad Ahmmed, Principal of the BSCIC Training Institute and General Manager (Planning & Research), BSCIC. Among others, the ceremony was attended by Jannatul Mawa Moon, Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology; Md. Jabead Iqbal, Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Bangla; Proshanta Kumar Podder, Acting Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Management; Md. Tarequl Islam, Assistant Professor (CSE), Department of Management; Babul Hossain, Lecturer, Department of Music; and Ekramul Hasan, Lecturer, Department of Economics, all from Rabindra University, Bangladesh. Md. Tanjim Hossain, Associate Faculty Member of BSCIC Training Institute (BTI), is serving as the Course Director of the training program. Miftahul Jannat Ripa, Assistant Faculty Member, BTI, and Md. Jubair Islam, Assistant Faculty Member, BTI, are serving as Course Coordinators. 

In their remarks, the guests emphasized that entrepreneurship development is increasingly important in the contemporary global economic landscape for promoting sustainable economic growth, employment generation, innovation, and self-reliance. They highlighted the importance of nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking, and practical business skills among university students to prepare them as future entrepreneurs and contribute to the development of a skilled and self-reliant generation. The speakers further noted that BSCIC has been playing a significant role in promoting entrepreneurship development across the country through various training, development, and support initiatives. Developing a mindset of “creating jobs alongside seeking jobs” among young people is essential for expanding selfemployment opportunities and strengthening the national economy. 

The training program, being conducted from 12 to 16 September 2026, is designed to provide participating students with practical and technical knowledge on a range of areas essential for entrepreneurial success. The training covers business plan preparation, small and medium enterprise management, marketing strategies, financial management, leadership development, and other key aspects of entrepreneurship development. The joint initiative of Rabindra University, 

Bangladesh and BSCIC Training Institute is expected to contribute significantly to fostering an entrepreneurial culture among university students, encouraging innovative business initiatives, and creating greater opportunities for successful self-employment and sustainable entrepreneurship.
