Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party rescued a six-year-old boy who went missing from Korail slum in the capital’s Gulshan area and reunited him with his family.
The child, Mohammad Ratul Mia, went missing Tuesday morning while returning home from a madrasa in Kumilla Patti of Korail. He reportedly lost his way, triggering panic among his family members, who later arranged announcements across the area to locate him.
Around noon, a guard identified as PC Md Abul Jabbar spotted Ratul crying alone near Gate No. 5 of the BTCL Colony, about one kilometre from Korail. He and other Ansar members immediately took the child to a safe place.
After making inquiries in the surrounding area and verifying the child’s identity, the Ansar members contacted his family and handed him over safely.
The family expressed gratitude to the Ansar members for helping reunite them with their missing child. Their humanitarian response, alongside their regular law-enforcement duties, has drawn appreciation from local residents.
