The 10th Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Barishal have won the 2026 Inter-Battalion Football Tournament, defeating the 4th APBn Bogura 2-0 in the final held at the 10 APBn ground in Barishal on Saturday.
A total of nine APBn teams, including the host 10 APBn, participated in the tournament. The host team and 4 APBn Bogura advanced to the final after competitive matches throughout the tournament.
The final was attended by APBn Headquarters DIG (Administration) Mohammad Shahjahan as the chief guest.
The tournament organising committee was headed by 10 APBn Barishal Commanding Officer and Additional DIG Md Shahab Uddin.
Among the special guests were 5 APBn Commanding Officer and Additional DIG Md Iqbal, RRF Commandant and Additional DIG Abdus Salam Rimon, PUNAK President Mubashira Khatun, Tourist Police Kuakata Region Additional DIG Anirban Chakma, PBI Barishal Additional DIG Md Monirul Islam, APBn Headquarters Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md Snigdha Akhtar, and Barishal SRB-8 Commander Muhammad Shahadat Hossain.
At the prize-giving ceremony, medals and trophies were handed over to the champion 10 APBn Barishal team and the runners-up 4 APBn Bogura team in the presence of the chief guest and other senior officials.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (Adjutant, Training and Operations) Ashfaq Ahmed conducted the programme.
The tournament concluded with the 10 APBn Barishal commander highlighting the motto: “Let sports be the source of strength, discipline be our commitment, unity be our strength, and service to the country be our highest mission.”
