A seven-year-old boy was safely reunited with his family after Ansar members found him alone and crying at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday night.
The child, identified as Raihan, was found around 10pm near the Heavy Luggage-06 entrance gate by Ansar member Aman Ullah, who was on duty at the time. He immediately took the child into his care and tried to calm him.
After being informed of the incident, shift-in-charge Md Kabir Hossain launched a search for the child’s family. Following his instructions, Ansar members working on the driveway used a hand microphone and other means to locate the boy’s relatives.
After about an hour of intensive searching, the officials located Raihan’s sister and her husband.
Following proper verification and instructions from the Aviation Security (AVSEC) authorities, the child was safely handed over to his sister.
The incident was described as another example of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force’s responsible and humanitarian role, alongside its professional duties at the country’s airports.
