Local Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) members repaired two damaged sections of a road in Ranachandi Union of Kishoreganj upazila in Nilphamari through voluntary labour on Tuesday.
The initiative was taken to reduce public suffering and ensure safer movement along the road in Kisamat Bircharan village. The repair work was carried out under the leadership of Union Ansar Platoon Commander Md Hasan Ali, with support from the Ranachandi Union Parishad.
The two sections had remained damaged for a long time, causing difficulties for local residents and increasing the risk of accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles.
Following the repairs, movement along the road has returned to normal, easing the difficulties faced by residents.
Kishoreganj Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Girish Chandra Roy was present during the work and provided overall support.
Local residents appreciated the initiative and thanked the Ansar-VDP members for standing beside the community in addressing a pressing local problem.
The voluntary effort was seen as an example of community engagement and social responsibility by Ansar-VDP members at the grassroots level.
