Bangladesh reported 17 deaths from measles and suspected symptoms on Monday, marking the deadliest 24-hour period since the current outbreak began in March. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), two of these deaths were confirmed measles cases, while 15 were classified as suspected.

Key Statistics (Since March 15)
Total Deaths: 52 confirmed, 259 suspected.

Total Cases: 5,467 confirmed, 41,793 suspected.

Hospitalizations: 28,832 patients admitted, with 25,151 recoveries.

Dhaka district remains the hardest-hit area, recording 10 of the suspected deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the disease is highly contagious, health officials emphasize that it is entirely preventable through vaccination. Despite the rising toll, 154 new confirmed cases were added to the national tally as the outbreak continues to strain the country's healthcare resources.
