Begum Jebunnesa, the loving mother of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Minister Professor Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, passed away at 5:38 am today while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).
She was 83 years old at the time of her death. Begum Jebunnesa was born in 1944 in a respectable Muslim family in Gafargaon, Mymensingh. She was a teacher by profession. She was known as an ideal and compassionate woman in the society. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, numerous relatives, and appreciative students.
State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin, Social Welfare Secretary Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, and Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Yasmin Parveen have expressed deep grief over the death of Begum Jebunnesa.
In a condolence message, they said, "Begum Jebunnesa was an ideal and compassionate woman. She raised her children as ideal people with her ideals and teachings. The pain of losing a mother is irreparable. The Honorable State Minister and Secretary prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased's soul and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives and well-wishers.
They prayed to Allah Almighty for the eternal peace of the deceased's soul and prayed for Jannatul Firdous. The officials and employees of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs also expressed deep grief over the death of the deceased.
