Newly appointed Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Commissioner Md. Ashik Sayeed held a views-exchange meeting with journalists from electronic and print media on May 14 at the BMP Headquarters conference room.
During the meeting, the Police Commissioner thanked the journalists and emphasized the professional and interdependent relationship between the police and the media. He said both police and journalists work together to combat crime, raise public awareness, and ensure transparency and accountability in society.
He sought sincere cooperation, constructive criticism, and positive suggestions from journalists to maintain overall law and order in Barishal through proactive policing.
The Commissioner also announced a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, gambling, and terrorism to make Barishal a safer city.
Journalists present at the meeting shared their opinions on the overall law and order situation and other related issues.
Among others present were Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime Management) Md. Abdul Hannan, Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters) Sushanta Sarkar, Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Sharafuddin, Deputy Police Commissioner (North) Mohammad Imdad Hossain, Deputy Police Commissioner (DB) Palash Kanti Nath, along with other senior BMP officials and journalists from various media outlets.
