Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon has been honored with the prestigious Gold Membership of the Barishal Zila Samity.
A representative delegation from the association, led by its President Dr. Enayet Karim, handed over the Gold Membership placard to the Minister during a courtesy call at his office on Thursday.
Apart from the presentation, the meeting served as a forum to discuss strategic blueprints for the southern region. Dr. Enayet Karim briefed the Minister on several ongoing initiatives and highlighted the untapped economic and cultural potential of Barishal district. The Minister assured the delegation of the government’s continued support in promoting regional growth and connectivity.
The high-profile delegation included several top leaders from the community organization, notably: Dr. Enayet Karim, President of the Barishal Zila Samity. Association Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique Sohel and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
The Barishal Zila Samity, a prominent welfare platform representing residents of the district living in the capital, frequently engages with policymakers to accelerate developmental projects in the Barishal division.
