Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Md. Arif-uz-Zaman participated in an exceptional dialogue on science and space with students in Gopalganj.
The science dialogue titled 'Eternal Journey of the Universe' organized by the district administration was held at the Gopalganj Municipality Auditorium on Tuesday (June 16) morning. The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Shobhan Sarkar, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Rezwana Kabir, Assistant Commissioner (Education) Rihab Inam and Headmaster of Jugshikha Girls High School Hari Shankar Biswas were present at the time.
More than three hundred students from classes 8 to 10 of Jugshikha Girls High School in Gopalganj city participated in the dialogue. In this event, which lasted from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, the Deputy Commissioner discussed various aspects of science, space, the origin of the universe and modern technology. He also answered various questions from the students and highlighted the importance of building a science-minded nation and acquiring knowledge.
The Deputy Commissioner told the students that they should develop themselves as skilled and competent citizens by acquiring science-based knowledge. He urged them to contribute to the development of the country and nation by studying hard and achieving personal success.
Pratyasha Mandal, a student of the ninth class of the science department of Jugshikha Girls High School who participated in the dialogue, said that such an arrangement by the district administration is truly commendable. This is the first time in their educational life that I got the opportunity to listen to such a detailed discussion on science and the universe. Not only me, but all the participating students benefited from it and learned many new things.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Arif-uz-Zaman said that the current world is based on science and technology. This event is organized with the aim of helping our students keep pace with the modern world. I hope that such initiatives will make students more interested in science and knowledge.
