U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, Brent T. Christensen, paid a courtesy call on Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton on Tuesday (June 16) afternoon at the Nagar Bhaban in Rajshahi.
A cordial meeting and exchange of views took place at the Administrator’s office during the visit. Discussions focused on transforming Rajshahi into a green, environmentally friendly, smart, healthy, safe, and climate-resilient modern city.
At the beginning of the meeting, the RCC Administrator welcomed the U.S. Ambassador with flowers. Following the discussion, he presented a commemorative gift to the Ambassador as a token of goodwill. Ambassador Christensen also wrote comments in the Rajshahi City Corporation visitors’ book.
Among those present during the courtesy call were Political Counselor Eric Gillan and Political Officer Charles Besnard, who accompanied the Ambassador. Also in attendance were RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Secretary Sohel Rana, Acting Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moeen Parag, Superintending Engineer Khairul Bakar, Chief Conservancy Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun, Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum, Budget and Accounts Officer Shafiqul Islam Khan, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Md. Nur-E-Saeed, Executive Magistrate Nazmul Alam, and other senior officials of the corporation.
