Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) repaired a 120-foot damaged road in Sagardari village under Keshabpur upazila of Jessore through voluntary labour, bringing relief to local residents.
The repair work was carried out on Monday morning under the guidance of Jessore District Commandant Mazharul Islam Bhuiyan and the supervision of Keshabpur Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Miajan Ali.
The bitumen road in Ward No. 8 of Sagardari Union had remained badly damaged for a long time, causing difficulties for commuters. Local residents welcomed the initiative, saying the repaired road has eased their daily movement and reduced long-standing public suffering. They also expressed hope that similar community service activities would continue in the future.
Officials said the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party continues to contribute not only to maintaining law and order but also to community development, public welfare, and humanitarian activities across the country.
