Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP, has said that Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) is working tirelessly to make Rajshahi a safer and more livable city by curbing criminal activities.
“Through strict action against wrongdoers, we aim to build a safer and more livable Rajshahi metropolitan city. Our goal is to make Rajshahi an even better place for law-abiding citizens, and RMP is working relentlessly to achieve that objective,” he said.
The minister made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the 34th founding anniversary of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police at its headquarters on Wednesday (July 1) as the chief guest.
In his speech, the minister said, “RMP was established 34 years ago under the initiative of Begum Khaleda Zia, known as the Mother of Democracy and an uncompromising national leader. Since then, the force has been playing a significant role in ensuring the safety and security of the city’s residents. Our Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman, has given the highest priority to maintaining law and order. The government is committed to ensuring that people can live in peace and security.”
He also extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police on the occasion of its 34th anniversary.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir delivered the welcome address at the program.
Following the discussion, a colorful rally was brought out from the RMP headquarters. The procession marched through major roads of the city before returning to the headquarters.
Among others present at the event were MP Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon (Rajshahi-3), MP Professor Nazrul Islam (Rajshahi-5), Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Rajshahi Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Esha, Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan, Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP President Mamunur Rashid Mamun, political leaders, and senior police officials.
To mark its 34th founding anniversary, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police has organized day-long programmes.
