A special meeting was held to review the overall law and order situation in Barishal district and to coordinate and oversee government activities—including corruption and drug control, ensuring good governance, transparency, and accountability, as well as public welfare and development initiatives.
Organized by the Barishal District Administration, the meeting took place on the morning of Thursday, September 17, at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. Jahir Uddin Swapan, MP, Political Advisor to the Prime Minister, attended as the chief guest. Sohel Manjur Sumon, MP, State Minister for Housing and Public Works, spoke as a special guest. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamun Khandaker.
Also present were Barishal City Corporation Administrator Advocate Bilkis Akter Jahan Shirin and Barishal District Council Administrator Akon Kuddusur Rahman. Other attendees included Commander Muhammad Shahadat Hossain (Captain, SRB-8 Barishal), District Superintendent of Police A.Z.M. Mostafizur Rahman, and BMP Deputy Commissioner (South) Sushanta Sarkar, alongside heads of various government departments, high-ranking law enforcement officials, and top leaders from the Barishal metropolitan and district units of the BNP and its affiliated organizations.
