The closing ceremony of the five-day training program titled ‘Entrepreneurship Development’, jointly organized by the BSCIC Training Institute (BTI), the training institute of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), and Rabindra University, Bangladesh, was held on 16 September 2026 at Rabindra University, Bangladesh.
Professor Tahmina Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh, attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Sobhan, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh, attended as the Special Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Hossain, Treasurer of Rabindra University, Bangladesh.
Among others, Md. Mahbubul Islam, Assistant General Manager, BSCIC District Office, Sirajganj; Jannatul Mawa Moon, Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology; Md. Jabead Iqbal, Chairman and Assistant Professor, Department of Bangla; Md.
Tarequl Islam, Assistant Professor (CSE), Department of Management; Babul Hossain, Lecturer, Department of Music; and Ekramul Hasan, Lecturer, Department of Economics, were present at the ceremony.
The five-day training program covered various practical and technical aspects of entrepreneurship, including business plan preparation, CMSME management, marketing strategies, financial management, leadership development, supply chain management, productivity, and essential skills for becoming a successful entrepreneur. As part of the training, participants were also given the opportunity to develop and present practical business ideas.
During the closing session, the participants were divided into three groups and presented three business ideas. The presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges based on predetermined assessment criteria. Following the evaluation, one group was declared the Champion, and the members of the winning team were awarded prizes.
The training program was conducted under the direction of Md. Tanjim Hossain, Associate Faculty Member of BSCIC Training Institute (BTI), who served as the Course Director. Miftahul Jannat Ripa, Assistant Faculty Member, and Md. Jubair Islam, Assistant Faculty Member of BTI, served as Course Coordinators.
In their remarks, the speakers highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship development in promoting sustainable development, employment generation, and economic growth in the current global economic context.
They emphasized that developing an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking, and business skills among university students can contribute to building a capable, self-reliant, and employment-generating young generation. In this regard, BSCIC has been implementing entrepreneurship development initiatives across the country for many years.
Held from 12 to 16 September 2026, the training program provided the students of Rabindra University, Bangladesh, with practical knowledge and skills to develop business ideas and explore entrepreneurial opportunities. The joint initiative of BSCIC and Rabindra University, Bangladesh, is expected to contribute to the development of an entrepreneurial culture among university students and create greater opportunities for self-employment and future entrepreneurship.
